We ended up with 17 queens from the Mike Palmer class (see previous post). I gave 12 of those to class members and made 5 nucs with cells I kept. Work being what it is (I’ve been gone part or all of 15 of the last 18 weeks) I finally went out to Sullivan today to check on the nucs and see if the queens successfully hatched. Absolutely! 5 of 5 were laying beautiful, full patterns on 3 frames in each nuc! I added a 2nd nuc body to each with a frame of honey, a couple of drawn frames and a couple with new foundation. I think I’m going to like these girls!
